A website to match their momentum

Touchlight came to us at a pivotal moment in their growth. Following major commercial milestones, including GMP certification, they needed a website that matched their stature as global leaders in synthetic DNA. Their existing site no longer reflected their innovation, credibility, or customer focus. They chose us for our strategic, design-led approach and deep experience in life sciences, trusting us to translate their ambitious vision into a bold, modern digital presence.


Our strategic and creative solution

Touchlight’s brief was clear: the new site needed to feel bold, exciting and visually different from anything else in the sector. They weren’t looking for a safe refresh; they wanted a complete reintroduction to the market, one that better reflected their status as pioneers in cell-free DNA and the scale of their recent achievements.

Our starting insight came from an audit of their existing site. It had become overly focused on internal messaging, lacking the clarity and confidence needed to engage external audiences, from biotech partners to investors and global pharmaceutical companies. The digital experience wasn’t keeping pace with the business. Our task was to flip that focus: to put customers at the centre of the experience and give Touchlight a distinctive, dynamic platform that would leave a lasting impression.

Digital strategy and UX

We began by defining key user journeys aligned to commercial priorities. Through competitor analysis, stakeholder interviews, and audience mapping, we identified the types of content that would best drive interest, credibility and conversion. The structure and navigation were reimagined to help each audience find what they need, whether learning about Touchlight’s unique DNA manufacturing process or exploring partnership opportunities. Clear messaging, purposeful signposting, and a focused site architecture ensured the new site worked harder to support the business.

Visual identity and content creation

We knew early on that visuals would be a make-or-break element. We collectively agreed that relying on stock or generic AI imagery wouldn’t cut through in this space, especially not for a company as pioneering as Touchlight. So we organised and directed a bespoke two-day shoot at their Hampton facility, capturing photography and video across their labs, offices, and cleanrooms. These assets were crafted to show real people, real science, and real credibility, not just innovation, but the human expertise behind it. We also produced a bespoke 3D animation to bring their novel DNA manufacturing process to life, adding visual depth and clarity to a technically complex story.

Design and build

We translated this strategic and visual thinking into a clean, confident, and technically robust website design. The creative direction focused on contrast, bright, high-impact visuals balanced with minimal layouts and clear, readable typography. We built the site with flexibility in mind, enabling the Touchlight team to easily manage and expand the content post-launch. Motion design and subtle animation helped add energy without distraction, bringing the brand to life digitally without overwhelming the user.

SEO strategy

To ensure the site would also perform commercially, we conducted a deep SEO analysis and mapped opportunities based on user intent. Rather than chasing high-volume search terms, we focused on where commercial and scientific audiences were already searching, language tied to services, technologies, and solutions. From meta structure to content hierarchy and internal linking, every element was built to support both discoverability and conversion.
