In October 2015 we were lucky enough to get to interview legendary graphic designer Milton Glaser, who has just died aged 91.

The influential American graphic designer created the world's most iconic place branding symbol "I ♥ NY".

Made for a 1977 tourism campaign, the logo rapidly gained recognition across the world and has been described as the most frequently imitated in history.

Glaser later said he was "flabbergasted by what happened to this little, simple nothing of an idea".

He also created a famous poster of Bob Dylan with psychedelic hair and was a co-founder of New York magazine.

Five years ago it was nearly impossible to get an interview with him but it was the fact we had a 'fun name ' (UP THERE, EVERYWHERE! What's that?) and the persistence of our team in UP New York that helped make it possible.
