UP is pleased to welcome Caroline Kelly. Located in a seaside town in the South East of England, Caroline is a specialist in editorial work and has recently joined our great UP community. Welcome to UP's Cloud!

How did you learn about UP?

I catch up with Adam McNaught Davis now and again (we worked together as reporters) and he told me about the great work he was doing and asked if I'd like to get involved with UP THERE, EVERYWHERE. He's someone whose work I know is very high quality, so I wanted to be in on that! I was also intrigued to see how a global agency could interact with my own business.

Where are you located? Have you always been here, or is this a new place for you?

I'm located in a seaside town in the South East of England I'm from here but until fairly recently had been living in Geneva and then Singapore. I'm home for now, but I love the idea of living away again. Not sure my children share that sentiment!

Tell us a little bit about the types of things you have worked on before UP? What do you most look forward to each day?

As a writer working independently I've mainly been involved in editorial work. For me that can be anything from feature writing to technical copywriting, across all manner of platforms. I love features, whether that's for print magazines or long form blogs.

But I also get a kick out of capturing a client's tone of voice (or helping them develop one) and producing content that chimes with them and their audience. It's super satisfying when you get that just right.

Recently I've really enjoyed putting some new skills to use - the so-called dark arts of SEO and producing content strategies.

What is your area of focus at UP, and what are you most looking forward to doing at UP?

I love working with start ups and being in on the ground floor of strategising for content. I'd love to get started on UP with something along these lines. Bring me your content needs!

What is your favorite part of what you do?

Broadly, I love the freedom I have working independently but more specifically I love writing and creating content that gets used and is useful or entertaining. I feel very blessed to make a living doing something I love. I also love that I get to explore avenues of interest to me.

Right now I'm just finishing up a Digital Marketing qualification and I've loved the learning process.

If you could have lunch with anyone (living or deceased), who would it be and why?

I feel compelled to say Jesus. There's the whole water into wine aspect (cheap lunch date) and I have questions about a lot of life stuff.

What else would you like UP members to know about you?

I ran the London marathon in 2019 and I will squeeze that fact into every conversation we ever have, multiple times. Do you want to see my medal?
