What makes a good brand?
We all know that brands are built in people’s minds. It’s a mental or emotional association. It’s a feeling. It’s an experience. It’s a whisper of an idea that might be spoken or shouted or a sense of loyalty that a person sometimes can’t even explain. It’s your logo, your front office staff, your back office staff, your sales team, your product label, the delivery trucks. In fact all the things that can go right or wrong along the way. It’s your entire company experience, image and identity, rolled up into a pithy slogan (or not).
We also know great brands are built on reputation. Which is why building genuine brand reputation is a core element of our approach and we have specialists who help our clients with this increasingly critical area. Developing a brand identity
Be careful not to confuse brand image and brand identity. Brand image is a picture of where your brand has been…it’s what the world thinks about you…in a passive sense. Brand identity is your chance to change the world’s mind…it’s what you want your brand to become. How you will define your brand moving forward. Developing a successful brand identity requires both a careful examination of your brand image and a confident projection of where the brand is going.
